The weakest part will probably  be the ring and pinion with 5.38 gears.
So  I think the  1310 is either   enough or better break the 1310 joint  then the  gears....

Also to clarify, it's not a Rubicon. I am getting a brand new Dana 44, built as tough as possible (5.38 gears, 35 spline, lockers, etc) but I am just building up the stock rear dana 44 with axle sleeves, 35 spline chromoly shafts, 35 spline arb compressor, 5.38 gears, and a new Differential cover

Also, why would the gears be the weakest link? 5.38 is as strong as you can go

With a higher ring pinion rate the space where the tooth touch each other get smaller. So a 5.38 is weaker than a 4.10 and a 3.21 would be the toughest. But of course 3.21 is not suitable for 35 or 37 tires.

So I would stick to 1310 HD joints or RCV shafts and think thats enough.
For 1350 joint you also need other shafts. So if I ever get into problems with the shafts or joint I'll go RCV

So would you reccomend a smaller ring and pinion or would anything smaller than 5.13 or 5.38 not be compatible with heavy ass tires?
